Grade Condition Tables

Desktop Computer Grading Table

PCExchange specializes in the remarketing of Offlease, Used & Refurbished Personal Computers. All Grade A & B Computers are Refurbished in our own warehouse facility and undergo exhaustive testing to ensure a trouble free experience for you. Any mechanical or electronic part not meeting original standards is replaced. Scuffed, broken and scratched plastic parts are not replaced and are only Cosmetic flaws.

We try to accurately describe the condition of our used, off lease and refurbished PC's so you know what to expect and will not be disappointed. If we have inaccurately described any of our Computer we will be happy to exchange it for a different Computer. We want you to be satisfied with your purchase and the grading system is in place to allow you to make an informed decision.

Although most of our Used, Off lease & Refurbished Computers are are in good to excellent condition some may have moderate to heavy wear. The following table will indicate the extent of wear you can expect compared to the "Grade" on the products web page.

Desktop Computer Grading

Like New

Although a "Like New" refurbished PC is not brand new it will look unused and have no signs of wear

Grade A

A used or refurbished PC with this grading will be in excellent overall condition for its age and will show very minor signs of wear. The various components will be as described below:

	• Case	Minor scratches or scuff marks on the shell. All trim and plastic is intact with no cracks or breaks in the plastic.
	• Keyboard & Mouse	The keyboard & Mouse may have minor to no signs of usage. All keys & mouse buttons will function as new.
	• Operation	Will operate as any new Computer would be expected to.

Grade B

A used PC with this grading will be in good to very good overall condition for it's age and will show minor to moderate signs of wear. The various components will be as described below:

	• Case	Some scratches or scuff marks on the shell. All trim and plastic is in tact and may have a small crack in the plastic.
	• Keyboard & Mouse	The keyboard & Mouse may have minor to no signs of usage. All keys & mouse buttons will function as new.
	• Operation	Will operate as any new Computer would be expected to.

Grade C

A used PC with this grading will be in good to very good overall condition for it's age and will show moderate to heavy signs of wear. The various components will be as described below:

	• Case	Scratches or scuff marks on the shell. Some of the plastic trim may be missing or broken.
	• Keyboard & Mouse	The keyboard & Mouse may have minor to no signs of usage. All keys & mouse buttons will function as new.
	• Operation	Will operate as any new Computer would be expected to.

Laptop Grading

Like New

Although a "Like New" refurbished notebook is not brand new it will look unused and have no signs of wear except to the underside of the notebook.

Grade A

A used or refurbished laptop with this grading will be in excellent overall condition for it's age and will show none to very minor signs of wear. The various components will be as described below:

	• Screen	No scratches, chips or scuff marks on glass. It will have no more than 2 dead pixels and the picture does not have "screen burn". The screen has a the correct level of contrast and brightness consistent with its age. It does not have light or dark patches which may affect the picture quality.
	• Cover	There will be no cracks or mild scratches. Slight scuffing and very minor scratches on the outer shell are possible and is normal for any used notebook. Flaps covering some ports may be missing which is also normal for used laptops. There will be no remnants of security badges or devices.
	• Palm rest	Will show no scratches or signs of coating wearing off.
	• Keyboard	The keyboard will have very minor to no signs of usage. All keys will function as new.
	• Operation	Will operate as any new laptop would be expected to.
	• Battery	The battery will accept and hold a charge - Batteries are used and we can not guaranty the length of time it will hold the charge, however, feedback from our Customers indicates on average it may last one and a half hours to 2 hours, however, some do do hold a charge for less than 1 hour.

Grade B

A used Notebook with this grading will be in good to very good overall condition for it's age and will show minor to moderate signs of wear. The various components will be as described below:

	• Screen	No scratches, chips or scuff marks on glass. It will have no more than 2 dead pixels and the picture does not have "screen burn". The screen has a the correct level of contrast and brightness consistent with its age. It does not have light or dark patches which may affect the picture quality.
	• Cover	Any cracking to the plastic cover/case will be limited to two cracks and very small & minor in nature. Minor scuffing and minor scratches on the outer shell are possible and is normal on these used laptops. Flaps covering some ports may be missing which is also normal for used laptops. There will be no remnants of security badges or devices.
	• Palm rest	May have scratches and/or signs of coating wearing off. Very small crack possible in front outer corner(s)
	• Keyboard	The keyboard will have minor to moderate signs of usage. All keys will function as new and be readable.
	• Operation	Will operate as any new laptop would be expected to.
	• Battery	The battery will accept and hold a charge - Batteries are used and we can not guaranty the length of time it will hold the charge, however, feedback from our Customers indicates on average it may last one and a half hours to 2 hours, however, some do do hold a charge for less than 1 hour.

Grade C

A used Notebook with this grading will be in good to very good overall condition for it's age and will show moderate to heavy signs of wear. The various components will be as described below:

	• Screen	Small scratch, chip or scuff marks on glass. It will have no more than 5 dead pixels and the picture may have "screen burn". The screen has a the correct level of contrast and brightness consistent with its age. It may have light or dark patches which may affect the picture quality.
	• Cover	Scuffing and scratches on the outer shell are possible and is normal on these used laptops. Possible cracking/dents or dings to the plastic cover/case that do not affect the operation of the screen. Flaps covering some ports may be missing which is also normal for used laptops. There may be remnants of security badges or devices.
	• Palm rest	May have scratches and/or moderate to heavy signs of coating wearing off. Crack possible in front outer corner(s)
	• Keyboard	The keyboard will have minor to moderate to heavy signs of usage. All keys will function as new and lettering may be worn on some keys.
	• Operation	Will operate as any new laptop would be expected to.
	• Battery	The battery will accept and hold a charge - Batteries are used and we can not guaranty the length of time it will hold the charge, however, feedback from our Customers indicates on average it may last one and a half hours to 2 hours, however, some do do hold a charge for less than 1 hour.

LCD Flat Panel Monitor Grading Table

All Used Grade A & B LCD Monitors are Refurbished in our own warehouse facility and undergo exhaustive testing to ensure a trouble free experience for you. Any mechanical or electronic part not meeting original standards is replaced. Scuffed, broken and scratched plastic parts are not replaced and are only Cosmetic flaws.

If we have inaccurately described any of our LCD's we will be happy to exchange it for a different Monitor. We want you to be satisfied with your purchase and the grading system is in place to allow you to make an informed decision.

Although most of our Used, Off lease & Refurbished Flat Panel LCD's are are in good to excellent condition some may have cosmetic or screen issues. The following table will indicate the extent of issue you can expect as compared with the "Grade" on the products web page.

Flat Panel LCD Monitor Grading

New

This is a brand new item.

New Open/Damaged Box

It is new and has been repackaged due to a damaged or open box. In many cases, the box is the only part that receives any impact or damage. The actual product can not be discerned from an unopened, undamaged box.

Grade B
(New)

A New Flat Panel Monitor with this grading will be in excellent overall condition. It is a new product, however, due to manufacturers' quality control this item was found to have a minor imperfection. This could mean (but not limited too): a blemish that the average user will never notice, a mark that's noticable if looked for on the plastic, or a dead pixel or two. The various components will be as described below:

	� Casing	Possible scratches or scuff marks on the shell. All trim and plastic is intact and may have a small crack in the plastic.
	� Screen	No scratches, chips or scuff marks on glass. It will have no more than 2 dead pixels* and the picture does not have "screen burn". The screen has a the correct level of contrast and brightness consistent with its age. The LCD Display does not have light or dark patches which may affect the picture quality.
	� Operation	Will operate as any new LCD Monitor would be expected to.

Grade A
(Off Lease/ Used/ Refurbished)

An Off Lease/Used or Refurbished LCD with this grading will be in excellent overall condition for it's age and will show very minor signs of wear. The various components will be as described below:

	� Casing	Very minor scratches or scuff marks on the shell. All trim and plastic is intact with no cracks or breaks in the plastic.
	� Screen	No scratches, chips or scuff marks on glass. It will have no more than 2 dead pixels* and the picture does not have "screen burn". The screen has a the correct level of contrast and brightness consistent with its age. The LCD Display does not have light or dark patches which may affect the picture quality.
	� Operation	Will operate as any new LCD Monitor would be expected to.

Grade B
Off Lease/ Used/ Refurbished)

A used/new Flat Panel Monitor with this grading will be in good to very good overall condition for it's age and will show minor to moderate signs of wear. The various components will be as described below:

	� Casing	Some scratches or scuff marks on the shell. All trim and plastic is intact and may have a small crack in the plastic.
	� Screen	No scratches, chips or scuff marks on glass. It will have no more than 2 dead pixels* and the picture does not have "screen burn". 	� Operation	Will operate as any new LCD Monitor would be expected to.

Grade C
(Off Lease/ Used/ Refurbished)

A LCD Flat Panel Monitor with this grading will be in good to very good overall condition for it's age and will show moderate to heavy signs of wear. The various components will be as described below:

	� Casing	Scratches or scuff marks on the shell. Some of the plastic trim may be cracked, missing, or broken.
