| How to Compare (Intel) Processors |
| |
While many people shop for laptops and desktop computers and compare the Clock Speed of the processor, there are actually four (or more) factors to consider when comparing processors:
- Architecture - basic manufacturer and chip family specific design features
- Clock Speed - the speed at which the processor runs, (measured in hertz, e.g. - Mhz or Ghz)
- Cache - dynamic memory space for frequently or recently accessed data
- Front Side Bus (FSB) - the speed of data available to other components of the computer.
Other factors to consider can range from voltage for laptop processors, (standard, low-voltage, and ultra-low-voltage), to dual-processor versus dual-core-processor and other considerations for high speed servers, workstations and fast desktops systems.
Detailed information about Intel Processors can be found of the Intel website.
